ARCHIVE OF MATERIALS FOR THE SAARI RESIDENCY (FINLAND, JUNE-JULY 2019)

Video by Tuomas Laitinen capturing the work atmosphere of the residency.

Landing Sites is a choreographic work by Daria Faïn,
who invited her collaborators poet-architect Robert Kocik,
sound artist Christian Konrad Schröder
and live artist Tuomas Laitinen
to the Saari Residency in the south-west of Finland.
There they engaged for two weeks in
imagining, invocating and experimenting
on the spatio-temporal structure and materiality of the piece.
That structure and materiality originates in
a meditation practice,
contemplative and critical reading of Karen Barad’s theory
of agential realism and
the material offerings of the environment,
such as clay, lime, lichen and clover.

tibetan book of the dead - original translation is “liberation through hearing”
building a chair for each poet separately for a reading
in Chinese the external is everything that is outside, internal is everything that is inside,
exterior is the outside surface of the envelope (like the womb),
interior is the inside surface of the envelope (like the skin of the belly).

Note: This residency set the distinct foundation for collaboration between each other, despite the fact that the planned performance at The Chocolate Factory was interrupted by the pandemic.
